Through this service, the customer can request the issuance of a Clearance Letter and reconnecting the service(s) either to the new tenant, the owner of the property or the new owner.

Required Documents Residential and Agricultural:
  1. Tawtheeq Online Services, Telephone Calls, E-mail (contactcentre@addc.ae) , Mobile Application and Website: No documents required.
    Note: In the event that the e-mail channel is used to request the service, the customer must communicate from the e-mail address registered on their account with ADDC.
  2. Service Centres: Valid Emirates ID
    Note: a valid power of attorney is required in case a representative of the account owner wants to apply for the service on behalf of the account owner.
Commercial and Industrial:
  1. Tawtheeq Online Services and Website: No documents required.
  2. Service Centres and E-mail (contactcentre@addc.ae):
    a. A stamped letter from the company signed by the authorized signatory
    b. A copy of the valid trade/ business license
    c. Signature authorization
    d. Valid Emirates ID
    Note: In case there are more than one partner, then a valid Power of Attorney with the emirates ID copy of the authorized signatory is require, or to sign the letter by all the partners mentioned in the trade license and provide their emirates ID copies from both sides.
Governmental Entities and Key Accounts:
  1. Tawtheeq Online Services: No documents required.
  2. Service Centres and E-mail (keyaccounts@addc.ae):
    a. Sending an official letter to ADDC and request account closing.
Death of the Account Holder (Emirati / local):
  1. Tawtheeq Online Services (tenants): No documents required.
  2. E-mail (contactcentre@addc.ae) (ownership of the premise):
    a. Notification of inheritance / limitation of inheritance
    b. Death certificate
    c. A general/ specific power of attorney on behalf of all the heirs
    d. Ownership deed (updated and includes the names of all the heirs)
    e. Information of the person responsible for submitting the application on behalf of the representatives (the authorized person, based on the general/ specific power of attorney on behalf of all the heirs), including:
    - A copy of his/ her valid Emirates ID
    - E-mail address
    - Phone number
    f. A letter from the authorized person to register the account in the name of one of the heirs
    g. Emirates ID of the account holder
Service Terms and Conditions
  • Payment of all outstanding amounts to receive the Clearance Letter.
  • Cancellation of the tenancy contract.
  • Expiration of the tenancy contract, maximum up to two days before the expiry of the tenancy contract.
  • It is not permissible to close an account for the owner of the property before completing the service of Change Property Ownership Information.
Steps To Obtain The Service
  1. Submit the application and the required documents through the available channel.
  2. Receive the application reference number through pre-selected channel.
  3. Inform customer about closing the account via SMS and send the clearance letter to the customer's registered e-mail address.
