Before you start

Moving into a new property is always a busy time, so we’ve made it really simple to set up your ADDC account to enjoy our water and electricity services at your new home.

If you’re renting a property within Abu Dhabi city or surrounding areas, your tenancy contract should be registered with Tawtheeq, the city’s tenancy contract register.

Tenants registered with Tawtheeq

In 2015, we linked our systems to Tawtheeq, so your electricity and water accounts will now be set up for you, once we receive your details. This means you don’t need to complete a separate move in application.

When you receive your new ADDC account number, you can manage everything online.

New owners and tenants not registered with Tawtheeq

If you’ve recently purchased your property, or you are a tenant who lives outside of the area covered by Tawtheeq, you will need to complete a move in application to begin receiving water and electricity

The documents required

Please send us copies of the following documents:

For tenants:

  • Passport
  • Emirates ID
  • Tenancy Contract
  • Previous Account Closing Letter for the property you are moving into

A note about Account Closing Letter

Previously known as a Clearance Certificate, an Account Closing Letter was issued when the previous ADDC account for your property was closed. To obtain a copy please contact either the last occupant of the property or the landlord.

For owners:

  • Passport
  • Emirates ID
  • Copy of the Premise ownership deed or the site plan, valid and issued from AD Municipality
  • Previous Account Closing Letter for the property you are moving into
